Jen Southern (Lancaster University, Sociology),
Silver Linings: Following things, processes and people
Jen Southern is an artist and PhD student in Sociology at Lancaster University where she is affiliated to the Centre for Mobilities Research (CeMoRe) and mobilities lab. Her art practice is collaborative, process based and participatory, working with audiences to explore local places through movement and locative media. Through descriptions of walks, workshops, flights, drawings and software development this talk will outline a developing methodology in which art works arise out of a socially engaged and extended network of practice. Resulting in works that explore the social, embodied and situated nature of mobile technologies.
