Politics, Principles and Compromise: Public Evaluations of Political CompromiseDate: 7 November 2012 Time: 4.00-6.00 pm Venue: FASS Meeting Room 3 Politics, Principles and Compromise: Public Evaluations of Political Compromise Dr Chris CarmanUniversity of Strathclyde Christopher Carman joined the department as the John Anderson Senior Research Lecturer in Policy Change and Civil Governance in March 2007. He has previously taught at theUniversityofGlasgowand the University of Pittsburgh (USA).Main InterestsThe intersection of political institutions and public opinion. In addition to examining the mechanisms of political representation, he is interested in participatory democracy and policies designed to increase mass political engagement.
