PPR454: Foundations of Bioethics

Objectives

This module is a core module of the MA in Bioethics and Medical Law, and is also available to students undertaking the MA in Philosophy or other relevant programmes. It aims to provide a foundational overview of major approaches to bioethics. Looking at some of the most influential and interesting contemporary writing in bioethics, we will examine some of the major ethical questions arising in health care, as well as questions about applying ethical theory to the practical problems of biomedicine.
