Fees Bursaries

Applications are invited for departmental and faculty bursaries in the following categories:
- 1 x MA 1 Year (overseas)
- 2 x MA 1 Year (Home/EU)
- 1 x MA 1+ 3 years (Home/EU)
- 1 x PhD 3 years (Overseas)
- 1 x PhD 3 years (Home/EU)
The bursary will be paid in the form of a fee-waiver for the period stated above for full-time programmes and will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time programmes. Those currently undertaking postgraduate study at Lancaster are not eligible to apply for this award.
Please submit your completed application from to the Postgraduate Co-ordinator. Applicants must already hold an offer of a place to study in PPR and be due to commence their studies during the 2013-14 academic year.
Completed forms should be submitted as an email attachment to pprpg@lancaster.ac.uk no later than Friday 5 July 2013. When completing the form, please indicate the MA programme on which you have been accepted and, in no more than 300 words, explain why you should be awarded the bursary. Please see the terms and conditions relating to this award. MA Bursaries of £1,000
We are offering bursaries of £1,000 to be used as a contribution to postgraduate fees related to full-time study on one of the Department’s MA Programmes commencing in October of 2013. Please submit your completed application from to the Postgraduate Co-ordinator via pprpg@lancaster.ac.uk. Applicants must already hold an offer of a place to study in PPR and be due to commence their studies during the 2013-14 academic year.

Ninian Smart Memorial Bursary 0f £1,000
We are also offering a bursary of £1,000 to be used as a contribution to postgraduate fees related to full-time study on one of a number of the Department’s MA Programmes.
Applications are sought from overseas students from Asia (broadly interpreted) who have been accepted to study on one of the following programmes:
- MA Religious Studies
- MA Religion and Conflict
- MA Religion and Diplomacy
- MA Philosophy and Religion
- MA Politics, Philosophy and Religion

ESRC Studentships: Security, Conflict and Justice, Politics in a Global World and Development & Humanitarianism
Applications are invited for an ESRC studentship (fees and living costs) in support of PhD studies for three or four years in these three areas. Application forms and further information are available from our Postgraduate Coordinator and must be returned no later than Monday 4th February, 2013. Applicants must also have received an offer of acceptance to study on the department's PhD programme.

Block Grant Studentships in Religious Studies – Subject to confirmation
The Department is very pleased to announce that it will be able to offer two AHRC block grants for the academic year 2013/14, one MA and one PhD in Religious Studies:
1 AHRC Block Grant Research Studentship
This award is available to UK/EU applicants (please see AHRC for information on student eligibility) wishing to study for a PhD in Religious Studies in the Department. It pays the cost of tuition fees and provides an annual stipend. Doctoral awards will be made for three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
