After two years in the workplace, I decided the time was right to begin postgraduate study with a Masters degree in International Relations. After lots of research into all the options, I chose Lancaster University because of its fantastic international reputation, world class scholars and frankly, it being a lovely place to live. The staff at Lancaster have bent over backwards to get me doing the right modules, on the right research path and with a supervisor who is distinguished and widely published in the field I want to specialise in. The lecturers are all passionate about both their subject areas and the learning of their students, which is a real motivation to achieve as highly as possible and enjoy the experience in doing so. Furthermore, the staff are really approachable and generous with their time to discuss any questions you may have. After completing my Masters degree, I am hoping to go on and complete a PhD in International Relations and pursue a career in academia. I believe that my postgraduate study at Lancaster University has been the perfect springboard for this.
