My time in Lancaster has been very beneficial due to the opportunities provided by the university. Studying the International Relations MA, with students from all around the world has been a great way to expand my cultural communication. The international character of the student body was incredibly diverse leading to me working with students from Pakistan, Russia, Taiwan, Czech Republic and China. This definitely helped my personal development and broadened my perspective on major international issues. To reach a consensus on some of the problems confronting global politics, in such a broad group was challenging but at the same time incredibly useful in viewing the world in a different way. Furthermore, the staff are of the highest quality with leading figures in academia and the diplomatic service providing both thought provoking and insightful teaching.
The facilities provided by the university were exceptional and provided a great space to socialise and study. Since my focus is on global humanitarian crises and refugee issues worldwide, all my assignments were related to this topic. Thanks to Lancaster I had access to a wide range of resources that allowed me to develop a considerable knowledge of this subject area. Furthermore, since Lancaster University has an excellent Career Office I got a huge help in improving my CV and cover letters. Thanks to them I got an internship in Norwegian Organization for Asylum Seekers in Oslo, Norway. All in all, the friendly environment and superb academic expertise made me feel confident in pursuit of employment in my future career.
