Email: Email Hidden Affiliations CILHR Centre for International Law and Human Rights I work on the nature, conditions, and political significance of human flourishing (aka well-being, welfare, the good life), and on various kinds of text - utopias, dialogues, autobiographies - which investigate these issues. I am particularly interested in capitalism's relation to human flourishing. Within these broad concerns, I have written on anarchist utopianism, on John Stuart Mill, on the roles of pleasure in good lives, on friendship and comradeship, and on David Hume. I am currently writing on capitalism and on the shape of a successful human life over time. PhD Supervision InterestsMoral philosophy, especially value theory, human nature, human flourishing, the self. Political philosophy, especially anarchism, socialism, utopianism. Capitalism. History of moral and political thought, especially Hobbes, Hume, Godwin, Mill, Kropotkin. Literary form in philosophy, especially autobiography, dialogue, utopia.
