Open Days

The Department of English and Creative Writing holds a number of OPEN DAYS, when prospective students who have received offers of a place can visit the university campus to learn more about undergraduate courses, and to experience (however briefly) what being a student at Lancaster is like.

POSTGRADUATE OPEN DAY
February [day TBA] 2007: 12.00pm-5.00pm

Our Postgraduate Open Day is your opportunity to explore the wide range of postgraduate study options available at Lancaster.
Whether you're interested in Masters courses or research degrees, on the day you can:
* Meet staff and talk to them about your study options
* Visit departments and view their facilities
* Meet Lancaster's postgraduate community
* Receive advice about funding your study, writing a research proposal and what postgraduate life is really like
* Explore our campus - including purpose-built postgraduate accommodation, social spaces and library.

How to reserve your place
Online booking for the Postgraduate Open Day will open shortly at www.lancs.ac.uk/pg-openday. Registering online will entitle you to receive a free lunch at the event.

Open Day Arrangements:

   
On the dates listed above, coaches from the university will meet trains arriving at Lancaster between 12.00 pm and 12.40 pm, with a second coach leaving for the university at 1.30pm.  A return service will operate from campus at 4.30pm, to connect with trains leaving for London, etc. If you come by car, campus parking is on the perimeter road, and in areas designated 'Visitors Car Park'.

On arrival on the university campus, you should assemble outside the main University Library in Alexandra Square: see Map, where Julie Brown, the English Department Secretary, will meet you at 2.00 p.m. There will be a short talk on 'English at Lancaster' and a showing of the university video. Then follows a guided tour of the campus, including a look at undergraduate accommodation. Later we will meet for tea and coffee with members of staff, who will be pleased to answer questions.
