I am interested in the conditions under which mass shifts in maritime traffic patterns occur; the relationship between transportation routes and social, political and economic hierarchies; the re-working of geophysical realities by human endeavour; and the new affordances and constraints for 'path-building' engendered by the melting of the polar ice-caps.
