How to ApplyAll applications must be made through UCAS and your school or college can tell you how. You are very welcome to discuss your application informally with us. Admissions ProcessAfter UCAS send your details to the University our Academic Admissions Tutors will look at your application, read your personal statement and decide if you would make a good candidate to study in the department. A letter from the tutor will be sent indicating if we will be making an offer. An official letter from UCAS will then be sent to you with full details of the decision and what to do next. Standard Offers
For the points value of other qualifications you may have please go to the UCAS tariff pages. Please note we do not guarantee places on the basis of equivalent UCAS points, although we do sometimes allow variations on the exact offer. What are My Chances of Being Accepted? We are happy to receive applications from people with a wide range of qualifications. We consider each case individually on its merits but some of our standard offers are shown above. We very much welcome applications from mature students returning to education, who make up 20% of our entry. We admit around 55 new undergraduate students to the department a year split between our two degree programmes - BA Media & Cultural Studies and BA Sociology.
