Dan Williams

2nd Year Student

Dan WilliamsI decided that I wanted to come to Lancaster on the open day. Not only because of where it was set, but also due to the campus. The beauty of having a campus university is that everything is here for you making it a lot more convenient. It really does offer the best of both worlds as there is the campus, as well as the town which is less than 20 minutes away on the bus. It wasn’t just the campus, but the people as well. Lancaster has a collegiate system which means that each student is a member of a college. Everyone lives in the same area making it easy to meet people and make friends.

Lancaster also has a good reputation for sociology. If you have never studied the subject before the core module in the first year is a great introduction to the subject and gives a broad overview of the whole field. If you have, then it gives you the opportunity to study things that you would not consider part of the subject beforehand. The range of courses available to you in the second and third years is also highly impressive.
