Hazel Marsh

3rd Year student

Hazel MarshI personally came into the Media and Cultural Studies degree late in the first year, as I swapped courses. The process of changing courses could have been highly stressful, but the Department were really supportive and helpful so I caught up in no time. This, for me, summarises the University; friendly support is available whenever you need it, with tutors contactable at all times.

As for the degree itself, it is engaging, thought provoking, enjoyable and allows for further study in areas of interest such as, film, sociology, identity politics and consumer cultures. The course offers something to interest anyone and is well worth a look at! For me, changing to this course was the best possible decision I could have made in order to keep my degree interesting, and relevant in a society that is increasingly reliant on new media.
