Jonathan Jackson

2nd Year Student

Jonathan JacksonMy name is Jonathan Jackson, I am a second year student studying Media and Cultural studies.

I chose Media and Cultural Studies because of the variety of modules on the course.  The modules give you the chance to delve into different aspects of Media Studies and help to challenge you as a student.  For example I have taken modules that I have never previously studied, such as Gender Studies, and have learnt about the theoretical side of Media and Cultural Studies on the Critical Cultural Theory module.  The department is very helpful if you have any issues or problems with your subject and the online LUVLE facilities help greatly with advice and information on modules. The tutors are approachable and can offer advice and support.

Living on campus at university is great fun and you get to meet new people and socialise in a different environment. It's easy to join societies and clubs that apply to your interests and meet similarly like-minded people. I am a part of Bailrigg FM which is the University radio station which is a hobby that I enjoy doing greatly. I would highly recommend Lancaster University as it is a fantastic place to further your education.
