Zoe Kennedy

Graduate Student

Zoe Kennedy Studying a degree at Lancaster University has proved to be the best choice that I could have made as a young undergraduate student.  After graduating in July 2010 I gained a position with a leading media software company that will see me flying worldwide in the capacity of a trainer and consultant. The peer presentations, the independent learning and the constant development of communication skills that were incorporated into every module are now the very requirements to fulfil my role at the company – Lancaster was the perfect preparation and has now seen me on my way to career success.

As for the modules available at Lancaster University, they could not be more interesting; who would have thought that Lady Gaga and her persona could translate into a piece of academic coursework? The degree course allows students to explore concepts of gender and its many politics in contemporary society, body image and the on-going fluidity of sexuality – all relevant subjects to young people’s lives that are ever-changing with academics all over the world documenting their current research. The course allows perspective of the images and messages we are being sold through our Television screens and on the pages of our Magazines where the celebrity is almost held as the “supreme being” – there are many avenues to explore and they are happening right here and right now! Here is a course that really values your opinion and opens itself to discussion. I couldn’t recommend a more enjoyable degree to anyone.
