This annual list covers books, articles, computer programmes, media material and art exhibitions dated and published or mounted in 2000, together with any items not included in previous years. Entries are arranged primarily by department, then by year of publication and alphabetically by author. Students’ names are distinguished by an asterisk (*) and those of non-members of the university by a dagger (†). The practice concerning the abbreviation of titles of periodicals is in line with British Standard 4148, Part 1, 1970 and Part 2, 1975.

A list of the research grants awarded to the university during the calendar year 2000 is also included. The information is arranged alphabetically by the awarding body, in the same format as the reports that are made to the Senate.
 

The former individual bibliographical checking of each published item has been replaced primarily by a reliance on the information submitted to us.
