Support for Researchers
Welcome from the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research Professor Trevor J McMillan, PhD HonFRCR HonMRCP, Peel Professor of Cancer Biology
Lancaster University recognises the valuable contribution that all researchers make to our research environment, output and impact.
The University is fully committed to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and has put in place an Action Plan to support the full implementation of the Concordat at Lancaster.
Lancaster's demonstrated commitment to the Concordat has received European recognition in the form of the prestigious HR Excellence in Research award. A UK-wide process, incorporating the QAA Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes and the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, enables institutions to gain the European Commission's 'HR Excellence in Research' badge, acknowledging alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.
The University's strategy puts significant emphasis on early career research staff training so that generic research skills, as well as those specific to a discipline, are both recognised and developed.
In this way we aim to help your progression to becoming world class researchers. We only ask that you take full advantage of the opportunities that are available to you while at Lancaster.
