Is this course for me?
Please attend if you are a researcher, research manager or supervisor, or you develop and support research staff and postgraduate research students.
Course detail
Researchers, Principal Investigators and the University share the responsibility for researchers' development and their future employability. We encourage researchers to undertake at least 10 days of Continuing Professional Development annually (including development associated with a specific discipline or research endeavour).
In this course we examine the context of the development of the Researcher Development Framework and present an overview of the four key 'domains' described by the RDF.
We also consider how the RDF is used at Lancaster University.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Describe how the RDF relates to national strategy for developing researchers
- Outline the scope of desired knowledge, behaviours and attributes covered by the RDF
- Describe how the RDF relates to current Lancaster University processes for the management and career development of researchers
