Departmental Equality & Diversity and Disability Representatives
The acdemic department rep role covers both staff and student issues, and the main porpose is to be the focal point in the department for communicating and promoting Equality & Diversity and Disability issues. The networks usually meet 3 times each year.
2012-13 meetings of Equality & Diversity representatives
These meetings cover issues relating to all equality groups, including staff and general disability issues, but excluding student specific disability issues.
2012-13 meetings of Disability representatives
These meetings primarily cover student specific disability issues, and are being arranged by Student Based Services.

Open to all disabled staff this forum is one of several mechanisms for consultation about disability issues -

Equality and Diversity Committee
This committee was established in 2010, it meets three times a year, in October, January and May.
Terms of Reference
(i) The purpose of the Committee is to promote all University Equality and Diversity related matters, including policy and strategy, action plans and approaches to achieving aims and objectives.
(ii) The Committee will receive reports relating to the above matters, and will:
1. monitor and assess the effectiveness of implementation of Equality and Diversity policy, strategy and action plans across all areas of the University as well as recommending further actions as required;
2. ensure the on-going development of Equality and Diversity policy, strategy and action plans, and ensure these effectively support the Strategic Plans of the University.
