Equality and Diversity Committee
This committee was established in 2010, it meets three times a year, in October, January and May.
Terms of Reference
- To develop a strategy with short-, medium- and long-term goals for the promotion of equal opportunities for all staff and students, in line with current legislation.
- To identify and make recommendations about the means by which the agreed strategy can be implemented, and (in conjunction with the equal opportunities officer) to monitor the outcome.
- To promote, through dissemination of information, training and other means, a working and living environment in which the need for equal opportunities is fully understood.
- To seek the means to communicate its work within the university.
Departmental Equal Opportunities and Disability Representatives
These are networks of staff who help to promote equality and diversity issues within their department or section by disseminating information or consulting staff and students about new developments. The networks usually meet 2 or 3 times each year.
