National Minimum Wage

The rates of pay from 1 October 2011 are as follows:

The minimum rate for those aged 16 to 17 will be £3.68 (previously £3.64) plus paid annual leave accrued at 10.8% of hours worked. (£0.40 per hour).

The minimum rate for those aged 18 to 20 is £4.98 (previously £4.92) plus paid annual leave accrued at 10.8% of hours worked. (£0.54 per hour).

The minimum rate for those aged 21 and over is £6.08 (£6.19 from 1 October 2012) plus paid annual leave accrued at 10.8% of hours worked. (£0.66 / 0.69 per hour).

Where staff are contracted to work part-time, accrued holiday should be granted at times when no work is required. Payment for this leave will be made on submission of time sheets.

Where staff are contracted to work full-time accrued holiday should be granted during the term of the contract or the contract extended to allow paid holiday to be granted.
