The purpose of sabbatical leave is to advance the pursuit of scholarship and research in the University, leading to the publication of results and the development of individual members of staff. Leave may be granted for developmental activities, such as training or experiential programmes, which are of benefit to the University.
Applying for Sabbatical Leave
The University's Sabbatical Leave and Leave of Absence Scheme should be read in conjunction with any local Faculty guidelines before completing the application form below, which should be forwarded to your Faculty Office.
On return from leave, members of staff are required to complete a written report (using the Outcomes form below) via their Head of Department to the Faculty office. This should be submitted in accordance with the timelines specified in the Faculty process.
