IT Certification Programme for LU Students
Summary
ICT Focus is working with the Computing and Communications Systems departments to offer students at Lancaster the opportunity to gain industry-standard IT Certifications. The courses provide an in-depth look at the relevant technology which allow you to work towards your final goal of taking an exam to become IT Certified.
All courses include instructor-led study days that combine taught sessions with practical hands-on labs. Official materials are provided, and some courses include the costs of practice tests and the exam.
Note that ALL courses will require additional work outside the classroom in order to pass the exam, but it is worth it! Industry certification will:
- enhance your CV,
- give you real experience of gaining IT certifications,
- provide an in-depth view of a specific technology or best practice framework within the IT industry,
- help you to stand out from the crowd when applying for work.
These courses will also provide evidence of skills development if you are planning to work towards the Lancaster Award (and if you are interested in the Lancaster Award you can find out more by attending one of their workshops - see the workshop timetable for more details).
