Sometimes genuine messages get mis-identified as Spam. These messages are called 'False Spam' and this page is about how to recover them and how to stop similiar messages being falsely identified as Spam.
False Spam
Although ISS have endeavoured to tune 'SpamAssassin' to mark Spam and allow genuine messages through, occasionally, 'SpamAssassin' may wrongly mark a genuine message as Spam. Messages marked as Spam that are not Spam are called 'False Spam'. You can send 'False Spam' to a special address (see below) where the messages will be analysed.
The senders address of message a falsely accused of being Spam, can be added to a 'White List'. The 'white list' (of genuine email addresses) will prevent SpamAssassin from classifying messages from that from those genuine email sources as Spam. Messages from white listed addresses will always get through.
Whitelisting
Addresses are 'whitelisted' in their current domain. It is possible for a whitelisted address to send through a different domain and get marked as Spam. For example a user might use their company one address to send messages from work and Gmail with an altered 'Sender's address' from home.
