County College A44 PC lab with 24 machines and one colour & two monochrome printers has now reopened. The PC lab is a drop in lab with no teaching wall facilities.

Security Alert

ISS have become aware of a security issue (RPC vulnerability) affecting PCs and servers across campus. The following action is being taken:

ISS is securing all its services (including corporate IT systems). Users of all IT systems (including ResNet), should expect some breaks in the IT service throughout the day.
Departments are now securing their own services which may also cause some disruption.
From early this afternoon, ISS will be deploying a patch to all workstations across campus. Users will be required to reboot their computers to apply this patch and should not defer this action.

Problems with Synchronisation and Access to Central File Store (H: Drive)

ISS are working on a hardware fault which is causing some users problems synchronising files and accessing their central file store.

Wed 22 Oct - Exchange Email Maintenance

There were breaks in access to the Exchange Email system to apply security updates. Work commenced at 1pm and was completed by 4pm. No one should lost access for more than 20 minutes.

Tue 21 Oct - WiNet Maintenance

Due to system enhancement works, WiNet was intermittently unavailable between 7am and 9am.

Tue 07 Oct - Central Web Server problem, and Network Maintenance

The central web server was 'read-only' due to a performance problem between 14:00 and 15:00.

The network connectivity to some areas of A and B floor in County Main was interrupted to allow for the installation of additional network hardware. Work began at 08:00 and was completed by 09:03. Cisco 7940 VOIP telephones were also be affected by this work.
