ISS has added a new 'PCInfo' icon on to the Managed XP PC desktop (you may need to reboot to see this icon). Double click on this icon to display information about your PC. Please quote this information when reporting a PC fault to the ISS Service Desk. More Information
New Security Awareness Links in Internet Explorer
The Internet is a useful resource, but it comes with many risks which continue to evolve. ISS has placed four new 'favourite' links in Internet Explorer. The links include 'ISS Threatwatch' and 'Get Safe Online - Government Website'. Follow these links for current information about security threats. More information
Tue 27 Jan - Fylde and Furness network connectivity problems
ISS undertook work to resolve the network connectivity problems users were experiencing in Fylde and Furness. Users continuing to experience problems were asked to contact the ISS Service Desk on extension 10987.
Mon 26 Jan - All systems ran without problems
Sat 24 & Sun 25 Jan - Fylde and Furness Network problems
The network connection to Fylde and Furness failed causing temporary problems for users. Although quickly resolved, further service disruption was created on Sunday whilst a more long term solution was put in place.

Tue 20 Jan - Isolated network problems and ResNet service break
Isolated network problems
The network switch problem affecting users in Fylde and Furness has now been resolved and all services are back to normal.
ResNet service break
There was a short break in the provision of ResNet to parts of Furness and Fylde, but the problem was quickly sorted. Users continuing to experience problems were advised to reboot their computer and in event that did not work, to contact the ISS Service desk on x10987.

Sat 17 & Sun 18 Jan - Weekend Closure of the Faraday Building
The whole Faraday building was closed over the weekend of 17th and 18th January. Users wishing to user the Faraday A39 or A205 ISS PC labs were advised to use any of the other ISS PC labs.

Thu 15 Jan - Most systems ran without problems
There was a short break in service at 15:42 in Furness and Fylde ResNet. This is now resolved. If users are still experiencing a problem accessing the network they should reboot their computer.

Wed 07 Jan - Security Patches
ISS applied security patches to the Exchange Mail System between 15:30 and 17:30 today. Users experienced breaks in services for up to 20 minutes while these patches were applied.
Tue 06 Jan - ResNet system upgrade
During the 'at risk' period, ISS moved the ResNet system to new hardware. During the move, the entirety of ResNet was offline until the work is completed at approximately 9am. Further configuration changes and subsequent restarts of all ResNet equipment resulted in short ResNet service outages throughout the day.
Mon 05 Jan - All systems, including Departmental Filestores, are now fully functional
The departmental filestores, Lancs\Depts\Others and Lancs\Depts\iss, are now operating normally. However, users who may be continuing to experience problems accessing data in these areas are requested to contact the ISS Service Desk on extension 10987.
