Thu 30 Apr - All systems running without problems

Wed 29 Apr - Exchange Mail & LUVLE Maintenance

Connection to the Internet -

At around 15:50 the connection to the Internet via JANET failed. Service was restored at around 16:00. This affected many JANET connected sites and not just Lancaster.

Exchange Mail System - Security Patches -

Exchange email users may experience breaks in service of up to 20 minutes for the application of security patches to the Exchange Mail servers between 13:00 and 15.00.

LUVLE Services Unavailable -

LUVLE, myPlace, my Modules, online assessments and module feedback will be temporarily unavailable between 4pm and 5pm l to allow for server maintenance work to be carried out.

Tue 28 Apr - ResNet At Risk - Barnoldswick

During the at-risk period on Tuesday 28th April ISS replaced a ResNet switch in Barnoldswick residence building (South West Campus) which had a failed cooling fan.

Mon 27 Apr - All systems ran without problems

Fri 24 Apr - ResNet problem - Grizedale block 113

A switch in Grizedale block 113 malfunctioned. ISS worked with the supplier to resolve the problem and had a fix in place by the end of the working day

Tue 21 Apr - Network problems - Environmental Science B522 and B505

There was a network problem in Environmental Science which affected rooms B522 and B505 during the afternoon.

Tue 14 Apr - George Fox Building Power Shutdown

The George Fox Building had a power shutdown on the morning of Tuesday 14th April between the hours 09:00 – 12:00. Work was carried out to the HV cables within the Thomas Barnes compound with regard to the new substation and Grizedale Bar.

Thu 09 Apr until Wed 15th Apr - Easter Break

Emergency works are required to repair a fault on one of the electrical sub stations onsite. There will be a power shut down between 10pm on Tuesday 14 April until 6am Wednesday 15 April while the essential repair work is carried out. Further details above.

Wed 01 Apr -Security Patches, Worm Activation & Unix Service Maintenance

Exchange Mail System - Security Patches,

Users may experience breaks in service of up to 20 Minutes for the application of security patches to the Exchange Mail servers between 13:00 and 17:30 on Wednesday 1st April 2009.

Conficker Worm Activation

On 1st April 2009 the Conficker Worm started downloading a Trojan on infected PCs. Users of Managed Windows XP PCs on-campus will be secure. Windows users in ResNet and off-site should check their machines (follow link) Conficker Worm.

Unix Service Maintenance

The IUS (Interactive Unix Service) was down the afternoon of Wednesday 1st April 2009, to move the physical service. This affected FlexLM software.
