Fri 30 Apr - Network Maintenance: Bowland College, Learning Zone and Reception Building
On Friday 30th April 2010 ISS will undertake network maintenance affecting wired and wireless service in the following areas: Bowland College, Learning Zone and Reception Building. Work will take place between 0700 and 0800. Outages should not last for more than 10 minutes.

Tue 27 Apr - Emergency Network at risk
Following the advice of a hardware manufacturer, ISS will be performing emergency maintenance to upgrade the software on the core network. No outage is expected, however the network should be considered at-risk. Work will begin at 8am and should complete by 9am.

Wed 21 Apr - Exchange Email Service Maintenance & LUVLE Maintenance
Exchange Email Service Maintenance
The Exchange email system will be temporarily unavailable, for the application of security updates, between 1PM and 4PM on Wednesday 21st April. Individuals should see interruption of service for no more than 30 minutes during this period. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
LUVLE Maintenance
On Wed 21st April LUVLE will be inaccessible from 4 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes while systems are updated.

Problems with ResNet
12:45 - Some connectivity problems reported on ResNet. ISS is investigated and restored a full service .
Network at Risk: Furness College & Graduate College (House 16)
During the network at risk period on Tuesday 20th April ISS performed routine maintenance on the network equipment serving the Furness College building. There wase a short outage to all network connections (offices, labs and ResNet) in the main Furness College area for a period of up to 5 minutes whist the work took place. Work began at 08:15 and was completed by 08:25.
ISS also performed routine maintenance on network equipment that provides ResNet connections to House 16 in Graduate College. The work involved a short 1 minute outage to ResNet connections in House 16. Work was completed by 08:15.

LUVLE was inaccessible from 15:00 for 2 hours while systems were updated.
Tue 13 Apr - Facilities Planon Upgraded & Symantec AntiVirus Upgrade
The Facilities Planon system was upgraded
The online Facilities Planon Helpdesk system was unavailable from 16:30 on Monday 12th April until 8am on Wednesday 14th April. Any urgent faults should be reported to the building porter or, during working hours, to the Facilities helpdesk on 93333 or facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk
Symantec AntiVirus Upgrade
On Managed Windows XP PCs between 13/04/2010 and 16/04/2010, ISS will be upgrading Symantec AntiVirus 10 to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11. Managed XP PCs are mostly to be found in staff offices. As the upgrade will take place upon a reboot of your PC, it is advised to shut down the PC at the end of the day so that the upgrade can take place the next time you switch on your PC.
