    Network Connectivity Problems - Management School

    A problem with a network switch caused connectivity problems for users in the 'old' section of the Management School.
    ISS Network Technicians investigated and resolved the problem as quickly as possible.

    LUVLE Updates

    LUVLE was unavailable for 1 hour from 3pm whilst system updates were applied.

Tue 26 Jul

    Unix Mail Service (Webmail) Problems

    A system failure rendered part of the Unix mail service inoperable. ISS network engineers investigated and remedied the issue by mid afternoon. Users of Live@edu were advised to access their email via the Live@edu login.

    PASS Service Upgrade

    The scheduled upgrade of the PASS system caused problems to some users. The system problem was quickly remedied, but users were advised to momentarily disconnect their network cable.

    Network Maintenance

    Connectivity was disrupted in Slaidburn House whilst work was undertaken to improve network resilience. Work began at 07:00 and was completed by 08:30.

Fri 22 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Thu 21 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Wed 20 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Tue 19 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Mon 18 Jul - All systems ran without problems.


Fri 15 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Thu 14 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Wed 13 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Tue 12 Jul - Scheduled Network Disruptions.

    Network Maintenance

    Network service interruptions were experienced in Furness College, University House, Reception Lodge and Physics whilst ISS Network Engineers carried out maintenance.
    Additionally, network switches were replaced in Bailrigg House. This too caused service interruptions.

    Non-ResNet Users

    Non-RESNET users in South West Campus experienced network connectivity disruptions whilst essential network maintenance was undertaken.
    Work commenced at 07:00 and was completed by 08:30.

Thu 07 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Wed 06 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Tue 05 Jul - All systems ran without problems.

Mon 04 Jul - All systems ran without problems.
