Lancaster University ISS - Printing at Lancaster University - Refund Policy

ISS printers are sited across the University for use by all students and members of staff. ISS spend considerable time and resources ensuring these printers remain in perfect working order. However, there are occasions when printers will be temporarily unavailable or not printing correctly. On such occasions, you will not be able to use them or you may find the output is below standard.

This page explains the ISS Refunds Policy for occasions such as those mentioned above and details the policy covering those users leaving Lancaster University with outstanding printing budget on their account.

Events Resulting in a Refund or Compensation

Unused Budget - Any unused pre-paid printing budget (which you have paid for yourself) can be reclaimed from ISS Service Desk in the Learning Zone. Photographic identification will be required before a refund is paid.

Please note, refunds are normally only claimable in the last two weeks of term.

Compensation - Compensation will be paid in the event of ISS printer output not reaching the required standard for example, because of low printer toner. In these events, ISS will recredit the users account. No cash will be given and evidence of lost or damaged work must be provided.

If the error is with the user, then ISS will not make a refund.

No identification is normally required for compensation to be paid, although evidence may be required in certain circumstances.
