JVCS

JVCS Advanced Features

Recording

The JVCS offer a recording service which enables you to capture the video conference as it happens including all participant venues and any data that is shared such as PowerPoint slides. Recording is available in the following formats: mpeg-1, mpeg-2, Windows Media, Quicktime, Flash SWF and Flash Video.

Video Conferences are not recorded by default so you must request a recording at the time of booking.

When the video conference ends the recording is available as a download from the JVCS, it is kept for two weeks before it is deleted.

Streaming

Using the JVCS you can also stream your video conference to the web so that people without video conference equipment can still watch the proceedings. When Streaming is requested you will receive a URL which you can distribute to your audience prior to the conference.

People watching the web stream won't be able to interact with the other participants but they will see and hear all the other sites in the call as well as any data shared such as PowerPoint slides.

Desktop Video Conferencing

JVCS also provide the JVCS Desktop Client which allows those without dedicated video conferencing hardware to join in a video conference using a Desktop PC with a webcam and microphone. When JVCS Desktop is requested you need to provide an email address for the person wishing to use it, they will receive an email with a link to download the software, and a link to join the conference.

JVCS Desktop is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7 but will not run on Mac OSX. It is also recommended to use only a wired network connection and not a wireless connection. The audio quality can be improved greatly with the use of a headset microphone to reduce audio feedback issues.
