In late March 2011, 'Active Sync' on Nokia Devices started requiring the user to confirm the new certificate when they connected to the University Exchange server to receive email. The Exchange server has been upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and Nokia phone do not yet recognise the 'new' Exchange 2010 certificate.

Scenarios

You are asked to confirm the certificate and given three options:

• Accept Once - the phone works but asks to again later.
• Accept Permanently - the phone works (recommended option).
• Reject - the phone does not connect to the service. You will have remove the Exchange service then start a new service to your Exchange account.

Locked Phone

If the phone is locked, you will not be able to unlock it without taking the battery out!
