Using Live@edu from your mobile device
IMPORTANT NOTE: The ‘Live@edu password’ is separate to your Lancaster University account password.
Before proceeding any further - please visit the Live@edu password page to obtain your Live@edu password if you wish to connect to live@edu from your mobile.

You must not use the same password as you use for your Lancaster University account.
You should make sure that the password that you choose for your LiveID account is as strong as possible and you should not share or disclose your password to anyone else. See for advice about password security and choosing a strong password see:

These instructions are for configuring your phone for use with your Lancaster University Live@edu email account.

Using Live@edu on your Windows Phone 7
1. From the home screen, swipe to the left.
2. Scroll down and select ‘Settings’.
3. Select ‘email & accounts’, then ‘add an account’.
4. Select ‘Outlook’, and then enter your Lancaster email address and Live@edu password, and tap ‘sign in’.
5. In the ‘username’ field, enter: username@live.lancs.ac.uk (e.g. bloggsj@live.lancs.ac.uk)
6. Leave the ‘domain’ field blank and tap ‘sign in’.
7. A message will appear: ‘We couldn’t find your settings’, tap ‘advanced’.
8. In the ‘server’ field, enter m.outlook.com
9. Tap ‘show all settings’ and change the ‘account name’ field to Lancaster Live@edu
10. Tap ‘sign in’.
The account will now synchronise and will appear on your home screen as ‘Lancaster Live@edu’. |

Using Live@edu on your Apple iPhone (iOS 4)
1. Select ‘Settings’ from the home screen.
2. Select ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’.
3. Select ‘Add account…’.
4. Select ‘Microsoft Exchange’.
5. In the ‘Email’ field, enter your Lancaster email address.
6. Leave the ‘Domain’ field blank.
7. In the ‘Username’ field, enter: username@live.lancs.ac.uk
(e.g. bloggsj@live.lancs.ac.uk)
8. In the ‘Password’ field, enter your Live@edu password.
9. In the ‘Description’ field enter Lancaster Live@edu and tap ‘Next’.
10. In the ‘Server’ field, enter m.outlook.com and tap ‘Next’.
11. Turn all desired services on, and tap ‘Save’.
The account will now synchronise and will be accessible from within the Mail app. |

Using Live@edu on your Android Phone
1. From the applications menu select ‘Settings’.
2. Scroll down and select ‘Accounts and Sync’.
3. Select ‘Add account’ at the bottom of the screen.
4. Select ‘Microsoft Exchange’.
5. Enter your Lancaster email address, Live@edu password, tap ‘next’.
6. In the ‘Domain\Username’ field, enter: username@live.lancs.ac.uk (e.g. bloggsj@live.lancs.ac.uk)
7. In the ‘Server’ field, enter m.outlook.com, and tap ‘next’
8. ‘Checking incoming server settings…’ will be displayed.
9. When you see: ‘Remote security administration’, tap ‘OK’.
10. Tap ‘next’.
11. In the ‘account name’ field, enter Lancaster Live@edu
12. Tap ‘Done’
13. If you see: ‘Update Security Settings’, tap ‘Activate’
The account will now synchronise and will be accessible from within the Email app.

Using Live@edu on your Blackberry
1. From the BlackBerry menu screen, select ‘Setup’.
2. Select ‘Email Settings’.
3. Select ‘Add’.
4. Select ‘Other’.
5. In the ‘Email address’ field, enter your Lancaster email address.
6. In the ‘Password’ field, enter your Live@edu password.
7. Select ‘Next’.
8. Select ‘I will provide the settings’ when it appears.
9. Ensure that ‘POP/IMAP’ is selected, and scroll down to the ‘Email server’ field.
10. In the ‘Email server’ field, enter pod51014.outlook.com
11. In the ‘User name’ field, enter: username@live.lancs.ac.uk (e.g. bloggsj@live.lancs.ac.uk)
12. Select ‘Next’. The account will now synchronise and will appear on your home screen as your Lancaster email address. |
