
QtiPlot is a cross platform data analysis and scientific visualisation solution.
QtiPlot is available under a full site licence. It is available in ISS PC Labs, and may be installed on Staff and student PCs, Macs or Laptops. QtiPlot is also available for Linux users.
Installation Instructions
Users of Managed XP and Supported Windows 7 PCs, who don't have 'admin rights' on their PC, should send a request to the ISS Service Desk for 'Temporary Admin Rights'. Alternatively users who have access to a local administrators account should log in as a local administrator before commencing the install.
Getting started with Windows:
- Win - click on the 'Start' button.
- Win XP - click in the 'Run' option.
Win 7/Vista - click into the 'spyglass line' at the bottom of the popup menu. - type: \\lancs\software\site\qtiplot\windows\ - see list of install programs.
Offcampus via VPN type: \\lancs-install\site\qtiplot\windows\ - right-click on your preferred version - see menu - then click on 'Run as administrator' option - see Welcome to the QtiPlot Setup Wizard' dialog.
Getting Started with Mac:
- Mac OSX - click on the 'Finder' icon.
- click on the 'Go' menu then the 'Connect to Server' menu option - see dialog.
- type: smb://lancs/software/site/qtiplot/Mac/ - see install packages.
- double click on the appropriate package - see installer open.
Getting started with Linux:
- Linux - map the //lancs/software/site/qtiplot/Mac/ drive.
- change folder to the most appropriate your Distro and read the 'text file' documentation.
- run the appropriate package.

The screen shots used below are from the Windows 7 install, but other installs should look similar.
- To continue - see the 'Welcome to the QTiPlot Setup Wizard' dialog.

- click on the 'Next' button - see 'License Agreement' dialog.

- click on the 'I accept the agreement' option, then click on the 'Next' button - see 'Select Destination Location' dialog.
- click on the 'Next' button to accept the default path - see 'Select Components' dialog.
- click on the 'Next' button to accept the default options - see 'Select Start Menu Folder' dialog.
- click on the 'Next' button to accept the default folder - see 'Select Additional Tasks' dialog.
- click on the 'Next' button to accept the default options - see 'Ready to Install' dialog:

- click on the 'Install' button - see QtiPlot install then - see 'Completing QtiPlot Setup Wizard' dialog.
- click on the 'Finish' button - see QtiPlot open.
