This page provides information about graphics programs which ISS supports, general hints about using graphic programs.

Note - University logos used to be available on this site but they have now been withdrawn. If you need a University logo or further information, please email webmaster (at) the usual lancaster email address.

Supported Graphics Programs

ISS supports the following graphics programs for use on PCs, listed by function:

• Drawing Diagrams - the Microsoft Office drawing tools in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Editing Photos and Scanned Images -
  • Paint.NET - a free, well-featured, easy to use paint package.
• Slideshows using Windows - you can use the Windows XP preview feature to present slideshows of image files, e.g. JPG.
• Web Publishing -
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader - free PDF reader.
  • CutePDF Creator - free basic PDF writer.
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro - fully featured PDF writer.
  • GhostView - aka gsview, a free postscript file reader.
