The Luminary - Postgraduate Conferences

As well as publishing regular issues of our journal online, we also organise and promote postgraduate conferences.

Our most recent event was Fractured Images / Broken Words, held at Lancaster University in June, 2010. Our keynote speakers were Professor Terry Eagleton, and comic book author and editor, Andy Diggle, author of The Losers. The conference also staged an installation by ethical community artist, Christine Dawson.

The event was a fantastic success, bringing together researchers from across the world and from many academic disciplines, to discuss a diverse range of concepts and texts, from graphic novels, film, poetry and contemporary art.
