Pre-Arrival

In the month leading up to your arrival to Lancaster you will receive emails (as long as you have provided the University with a personal email address) from the ISS Service Desk and Student Registry which provide ‘Pre-arrival login’ details and information to enable you to pre-register and to set up your IT Account. You must do these as soon as you can.

Student with LaptopPre-registration

In the online pre-registration process you will confirm your personal details.
When you have completed the process and submitted the details you will be asked to print off a 'Confirmation of Registration and Membership of the University' form, which you should bring with you to your Registration slot in Freshers’ Week.

IT Account Setup

Once pre-registered, you will be directed to set up your IT Account. Your IT Account will give you access to University IT systems and resources.

In the online IT Account setup process you will have to accept the Computer User Agreement (CUA), which is part of the Rules of the University, will need to take note of the IT Account username you are given, and will set a password.

Having done this, you will be able to use your IT Account to access your University email account before you come to Lancaster, and will be able to use it to access University IT systems and resources (including the Internet) as soon as you arrive – amongst other things, this may be important to you in enabling contact with family and friends.

If you are going to be resident on campus, you will also be able to validate a PC or laptop that you will be bringing with you before you come to Lancaster, so that you have immediate access to the Residences Network (ResNet) in your room.
