Teaching & Learning Strategy
Ten three hour practical workshops involving an element of both lecture and seminar discussion work. Students will be a given a range of group-based workshop assignments and each student will be a workshop leader for one of the workshops. Workshop leaders will organise further tutorials with the module tutor. Students are expected to work independently, especially towards workshop presentations and performance assignments.
Assignment brief
Assignment 1 – 50% The presentation of an instructive workshop based on a practitioner/movement/idea to be negotiated with the tutor.
Assignment 2 – 50% A practical performance assignment – students negotiate proposals with the module tutor. Students are encouraged to reflect upon the module aims and objectives and how best to achieve those aims through performance.

Assignment Proposal
Form
1. To positively
encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning you have
an opportunity to submit your own assignment proposal for this module.
2. You must
reflect back on the module aims and objectives and relate them to the nature
of your assignment submission, clearly indicating the criteria by which
you wish to be assessed.
3. You may submit
a shared group/team proposal, but each group member must submit their own
individual form to the supervising tutor.
4. You must
negotiate the nature of the assignment and the means of assessment with
your supervising tutor.
5. You must
obtain written permission from your supervising tutor before commencing
work on your assignment submission.
