I am a research student at the Department of Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University working in the field of sociolinguitics. My research is being supervised by Dr. Mark Sebba. My thesis working title is Changes in Language Roles and Powers in Revolutionary Egypt.

My paper on The Use of Latinised Arabic in Printed Edited Magazines in Egypt has been published in the Sept/Oct 2012 issue of the United Academics Journal of Social Sciences.
I presented my paper Local movement, Global momentum: The geosymiotics of protest messages from Tahrir Square at SS19 on Wednesday 22 August 2012 in Berlin as part of the thematic session 'Taking over the squares'.
My article 'Out!' in Any Language appeared in the June/July issue of The Linguist.
