I recently started my PhD in October, 2008 at Department of Communication Systems (DCS), Lancaster University. Currently, I am working with Prof.Bahram Honary on MIMO-UWB systems for performance enhancements. Before, I completed my MS at Department of Computer Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals with specialization in wireless mobile ad hoc networks. Earlier, I received my BS degree at Department of Electrical Engineering, UET (University of Engineering & Technology) Lahore, Pakistan. Here is my Curriculum Vitae.

Research Interests

*         Wireless Communication Systems

*           Mobile Computing and Wireless Networks, Ad hoc Networks

*           Computer Network Design

*           Multimedia Traffic over Wireless Networks

*           Network Security

*           Graph Theory

*           Probability and Queuing Theory

*           Communication Networks, Telecommunications

PhD Research

The focus of the research is to find efficient channel modelling for MIMO-UWB system. I have done ray tracing based channel modelling for UWB under MIMO case. Currently, along with writing-up, I am working on rank codes and interleaved rank code based STBC. My PhD is at its final stage now.

MS Thesis

I worked on Video transmission over MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) as my MS thesis subject under the supervision of Dr.Tarek Sheltami. The focus of the work was to optimize the network performance in terms of the number of hops, delay and power minimization issues when a MANET is subjected to video input. The combination of mysteries of video compression / video traffic features and MANET are inspiring to me and best match my interests. I successfully defended my thesis on September 17, 2006. Here are my accepted proposal, MS Seminar on Proposal, and Final Thesis Presentation.
