I am a second year student reading for a PhD in Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School. I received my undergraduate education at the University of Malta, after which I read for a MSc (Econ) Accounting and Finance degree at the University of Aberdeen Business School. After completing my Master degree I have worked for a couple of years at the University of Malta as an Assistant Lecturer within the Department of Accountancy. I started the PhD programme at Lancaster University in October 2010. The focus of my current research is on the accounting for repurchase transactions. In particular I am looking at the role the accounting for repurchase transactions had on the distress in the repo market during the 2007/2008 financial crisis. |
