General Information

Service Delivery and Operations provides the support to assist users in accessing the IT services which ISS provides and in resolving issues with, and getting answers to, questions about these services.

The following sections are within Service Delivery & Operations:

  • ISS Service Desk – the primary point of contact for IT issues and requests relating to ISS Services. It aims to resolve issues without needing to pass them on, and to keep users informed of progress. The Service Desk can be contacted via phone, email or in person in the Learning Zone. In addition, a comprehensive self-help portal is available to provide answers to IT (and other) questions.
  • Faculty IT Teams – providing localised support, through specialist IT Engineers, to resolve IT issues FASS, FHM, LUMS, LEC and University House and the Library. These teams are able to assist when IT issues cannot be resolved via the ISS Service Desk. In addition, some Teams have additional specialist resources where faculty needs require it.
  • Digital Technologies Unit – providing campus-wide services such as video streaming (used for graduation and events), advanced teaching space support, and a hire service for large events. The DTU also investigates and trials new digital services before their release into operations.
  • The Workshop – a Lancaster University owned and environmentally aware store, providing students with PC Sales and Support, computer health checks, mobile phone setup, software installation, repairs and computer recycling.
