The Technical Infrastructure Group (TIG) develops and maintains the wired and wireless campus networks and the various computer systems that support the teaching, research and administrative activities of the University.
The following sections are within TIG:
- TIG System services – responsible for the virtual server and storage infrastructure, mail systems, the research High Performance Computing facility, printing, file storage, and the web servers.
- TIG Network services - responsible for the wired and wireless campus networks, as well as the VoIP telephony service. It also manages regional networking services that include the running of CANLMAN which provides connectivity for regional HE and FE institutions to the JANET backbone network.
- LEC IT support - responsible for IT systems support for research, teaching and administration within the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC).
