General Information
The Marketing team provides a range of services to internal and external audiences. Our main aims and objectives are as follows:
- To market the University to prospective postgraduate and undergraduate students and communicate the quality of our teaching, research, facilities and student experience
- To identify, develop and communicate marketing opportunities and initiatives by which to enhance the promotional effectiveness of Lancaster University to prospective students
- To communicate the brand and reputation of the University to external audiences
- To provide an institutional point of contact to supply, or provide for the supply of, information by which to enhance our portfolio development, quality assurance and externally-directed marketing and communication activities
Web Marketing Services
We are responsible for the development and maintenance of the University's corporate website and have an overarching responsiblity for the University web presence through the co-ordination of other strategic external web-based activities. If you require any support regarding web design or services relating to search engine optimisation, tracking statistics, web presence (or accuracy) on external websites, please contact us.
Marketing and Publications Services
We are responsible for the preparation, publication, storage, mailing and distribution of the University's core recruitment publications for undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment purposes. These include the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Prospectuses, Departmental Subject Factsheets, The Colleges at Lancaster, and The University Visitors Guide (Campus Maps). Marketing and Communications Services
All our product based services are underpinned by core administrative and quality assurance processes. A major component of our work is to gather accurate information across the university and determine the best means by which to strategically promote this information to external audiences. All new undergraduate (we liaise with UCAS for the allocation of new course codes) and postgraduate courses, UCAS entry profiles and changes to entry grades engage the activities of our office to ensure that this information is registered and effectively promoted in marketing materials by which to assist the decision-making of our prospective market audiences. We have extensive internal and external communication links and regularly review and gather feedback and opportunities by which to improve our strategic marketing activities.
