Professional Education, Professional Service firms and Cultures of Work

Welcome to the website for the project 'Professional education, global professional service firms and the cultures of professional work in Europe'.

This website provides information about ongoing research that examines the way new recruits to one profession – the legal profession – are trained and educated. Specifically the project examines the way new recruits to the legal profession working for global law firms ‘learn’ to be a professional lawyer.

The project runs from 1st December 2008 to 28th February 2010 and is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (grant RES-000-22-2957).

Please explore the range of working papers, reports and datasets available on this website and keep checking for updates which will be made as the project proceeds.

For more information about the project, or to be added to the mailing list for the project and receive updates about new papers and datasets, please contact any member of the project team.
