Intellectual Property (IP) Development
The policy of Lancaster University is to promote IP to generate research and impact.
RES identifies, protects, markets and licenses Intellectual Property (IP).
The IP Development Office assists academics and staff at Lancaster University to generate additional research funding by commercialising their research and inventions via patenting, licensing to third parties and the formation of spinout companies. It also looks for licensees for IP and finance for spinouts.
Lancaster University has formed and holds equity in a number of spinout companies.
Lancaster University and its spinout companies have a range of intellectual property available for licensing.
Lancaster University has adopted the Easy Access IP model for selected technologies.
