Appointments

In order to book an appointment it is necessary to fill out a self-referral form. This should only take around 5 minutes to complete. To do this please click on the link below and follow the instructions. You will need to select the 'New' button unless you are returning to a previous form within 24 hours of starting it.:-

The form is stored in line with our Confidentiality and Data Protection Policy.

Is there a demand for appointments?

Yes there is demand for appointments, but first appointments can usually be made within 7 days. When necessary, during busy times, we operate a waiting list, which can mean a longer waiting time before an appointment can be offered. This is simply because of the amount of people wanting to see us.

What if I can't attend an appointment?

If you want to change or cancel your appointment, please ring extension 92690 as soon as you can to let us know. Cancelled appointment times can then be offered to other people who are waiting and in need of an appointment. If you do not turn up for an appointment without letting us know, it will count as one of your allocated number of sessions.  If you do not turn up on two occasions without letting us know, we will assume you no longer wish to receive counselling and offer subsequent appointments to the next person on our waiting list.

What are the office hours?

Feedback

As part of receiving counselling at Lancaster University, you will be asked to fill out a feedback form at the end of your final counselling session. These forms are anonymous, and are used to improve the service we offer. From time to time we also engage in research, and as part of this you may also sometimes be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire at several points throughout your counselling. Again, all replies are kept confidential. If you decide to stop attending counselling sessions without informing us, we may also contact you to request feedback- it is important for us to know about the experience that all our clients have when using this service.
