Bullying and Harassment

What is bullying?

Bullying can mean many different things.

•  being called names

•  being teased

•  being pushed or pulled about

•  having money and other possessions taken or messed about with

•  having rumours spread about you

•  being ignored and left out

•  being hit, kicked or physically hurt in any way

•  being threatened or intimidated

Bullying can also be part of other forms of abuse.

If you have experienced any of the above in the past, you may wish to talk things through with a counsellor to help develop new strategies and understandings to help you in the present. Often living away from home for the first time, allows students an opportunity to look at previous situations ,and counselling may be able to assist you in not replicating patterns, but putting you in control.

HARRASSMENT- Lancaster University have a HARRASSMENT NETWORK which operates for both students and staff. To understand how this network operates you may also wish to talk to a counsellor, who may help you decide appropriate action/options available to you.
