UK students - Lancaster University Undergraduate Funding

University Awards 2011 entry

Below are awards introduced by the University to assist UK full time Undergraduate students. Awards may differ depending on year of entry. The University policy on financial awards may be subject to change.

LU Bursaries (UK FT UG students only)

All Universities are obliged to offer a (statutory) minimum bursary to UK students paying full fees at a rate of 10% of the full fee level. In 2010 this minimum bursary is 10% of £3,375= £337.

Lancaster University has decided to exceed this minimum by offering new UK full time students a bursary of £1,000 where household residual income is below £34,000.

Students will not need to apply for this bursary, providing students and their parents do not opt out of household income data sharing it will be assessed automatically based on information Lancaster University receives from the Student Loan Company. Payment will be made directly into a nominated bank account in February of each academic year.

The LU Bursaries are paid in addition to other awards below.

LU Scholarships (UK FT UG students only)

LU Scholarships are available to UK students on every full time undergraduate course for students who meet the award criteria. LU Scholarships will be available to UK students who make Lancaster University their firm choice and meet the relevant scholarship grades. The scholarship grades (e.g. AAA) will be separately specified from the entry grades (e.g. ABB) for admission to the degree scheme.

Students will be assessed for this award automatically. Providing they have put Lancaster as CF on their UCAS form and met the required grades the LU Scholarship of £1,000 per year will be paid for the duration of their studies for entry 2010 and before, providing the student remains registered on a scheme administered by the admitting department. For 2011 entry the LU Scholarship is for Year 1 only.

Payment will be made directly into a nominated bank account in February of each academic year. The continued payment of this award for entry 2010 & before is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
