Getting to Lancaster

All new students starting on their main programme are asked to arrive over the weekend Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2013, depending on the arrival date given to you by your allocated college. Please do not arrange to travel before this date if you are living on campus because your accommodation may not be ready and you will then incur further costs for temporary accommodation.

 

Lancaster University Airport Collection Service

We recommend that you try to arrive at Manchester Airport where a team of Lancaster University representatives will be available to assist you.

The International Student Advisory Service offer a Coach pick-up Service from Manchester Airport to Lancaster campus for:-

 

  • Pre-sessional English Language Programme (PELP) students arriving on Saturday 13th July or Sunday 14th July
  • Students  for the main intake arriving on Saturday 28th September or Sunday 29th September

There will be a Welcome Team of Lancaster University students to assist you.  Each seat costs £25.00. If you would like a seat on the coach you MUST PRE-BOOK AND PAY ONLINE  on the Lancaster online shop Please book here. Please note bookings for this service will close on Wednesday 10th July 2013 and Wednesday 25th September 2013 respectively, at 5.00pm UK time, or when all the seats have been sold.

Space on the coach is limited so we ask you to bring only 2 pieces of luggage and 1 piece of hand luggage.

Making your own way to Lancaster

Details of how to get to Lancaster University from Manchester airport (the nearest airport), or from Gatwick or Heathrow airports in London, can be found in the pre-arrival guide, here. The guide also gives useful information on student discounts on travel (section 5.4)

 

When you arrive on campus

Please go to the Porter’s Lodge of the college in which you have been allocated a room. The
Porter will be there to assist you with welcome information and the keys to your room. If
you arrive during the main arrivals’ weekend there will also be student representatives available
to help. The Porters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You should also meet with
your College Administrator in your College during the first few days for further guidance.
