Manchester Airport - Coach Transfer Service
WHEN TO ARRIVE
All new students studying at Lancaster University in the 2012-13 academic year are requested to arrive at the University on either Saturday 29th September 2012 or Sunday 30th September 2012, in accordance with arrival arrangements of your college. Please check directly with your college.
MANCHESTER AIRPORT COACH SERVICE
On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2012, Student Based Services will provide a coach transfer service from Manchester Airport to Lancaster University for all new international students flying into Manchester Airport. Our Welcome Team will be waiting for you at the airport from 08:00 in the morning until 19:00 in the evening on both Saturday and Sunday and will assist you to get on the next available coach to the University. If you have any questions or problems, the Welcome Team will be pleased to help you.
Details about where the Pick-Up service will be located will be sent to you when you pre-book your place.
Coaches will be organised to depart approximately every hour throughout Saturday and every one and a half hours throughout Sunday. Whilst we do everything possible to minimize the waiting time for students, events including late-arriving flights and motorway and airport congestion sometimes occur and may cause unexpected delays.
The cost of the Pick-up Service is:
- £20 for students or adult dependants of student (ie husband or wife)
- £10 for child dependants of student 12 years or under (ie son or daughter).
- £25 for all others (ie parent , friend, other family members of student)
How to book and pay for your place on the Coach Service
Complete the Arrival Information Form on our website: www.lancs.ac.uk/sbs/airport.php
Press the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the page. Once your information has been received you will be taken to a new window which gives further information and instructions on how to find the Welcome Team at Manchester Airport and how to make your payment.

This is the final stage in your booking and a place will be reserved for you. Places will only be reserved (booked) once payment is received. A receipt will be emailed to you, which you should present to the Welcome Team before boarding the coach. You will not be able to board the coach without this receipt. ** Please note items below
** Please note;
*Due to the normal constraints on space, the maximum amount of luggage allowed per person is two suitcases/travel bags (plus a small amount of hand luggage). If you have more luggage than this, you must make separate arrangements to send it to the UK through a shipping company. Large items such as bicycles or other such equipment cannot be transported on the coach.
*Transport provided from the airport to the University is not wheelchair accessible. If you have a disability and anticipate any difficulties with travel please let us know as soon as possible.
*The Lancaster University Welcome Team can not accept payment for the coach at the airport. If you arrive at the airport and have not pre-booked the service, the team will do their best to help you find a seat and you will be sent an invoice to your term time address which must be paid within 7 days.
