The Lancaster Student Experience Survey

The Student Experience survey is run every two years and gives students chance to feedback on areas such as recreation facilities, opportunities to get involved in university life, college facilities, support services, health services, shops, catering, careers and learning facilities. The survey is open to all second year undergraduate students and all campus based postgraduate students on taught and research degrees.

In 2007, and also in 2008, over 1000 second year undergraduates and 1000 post-graduates took park in the survey. Over 80% of students rated their University experience as either excellent or good. As a result of the survey, the University undertook initiatives such as:-

• Designing a new sports centre, for completion in 2011
• Creating a new IT-enabled learning zone on Alexandra Square (opened in October 2009)
• Providing new college social facilities (Fylde opened in 2008, Grizedale in 2009, Pendle to be refurbished in 2010)
