The Lancaster Student Experience Survey

The Student Experience survey is run every two years and gives students chance to feedback on areas such as recreation facilities, opportunities to get involved in university life, college facilities, support services, health services, shops, catering, careers and learning facilities. The survey is open to all first and second year undergraduate students and all campus based postgraduate students on taught and research degrees.

Over 2000 students completed the survey in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Over 80% of students rated their University experience as either excellent or good. As a result of the survey, the University undertook initiatives such as:-

• Designed a new sports centre completed in 2011

 

• Created a new IT-enabled learning zone on Alexandra Square (opened in October 2009)

 

• Provided new college social facilities (Fylde opened in 2008, Grizedale in 2009, Pendle in 2010, Bowland in 2011 and Furness in 2012)
