Congratulations to Dr Phil Benachour from Communication Systems who has been appointed to this role. Phil will assume this role for two years in the first instance and will assist both the Under and Postgraduate Teaching Deans in managing the relationships with overseas partners, helping them in assessing proposals for degree programmes delivered at Lancaster and elsewhere, and in managing the increasing volume and scope of our international activity.

Paul Taylor, Coral Dando and Tom Ormerod from Psychology have received £722,714 of government funding for a three-year project that will help establish the utility of new cognition-based police interviewing and deception detection techniques. The project, which involves collaborates from Yale and Texas A&M Universities, is the largest study of its kind to date, involving participants from a diverse range of communities within the UK.
